SplitEase is built for small groups that want faster expense entry, clearer balances, and less cleanup after the bill.

What does SplitEase do?

It helps friends, couples, roommates, and trip groups track shared expenses, see who owes whom, and record settlements in one place.

How does the experimental receipt scanning feature work?

You upload a receipt photo, OCR extracts the raw text, and an AI parser turns that text into structured items that you can review before creating an expense.

This feature is experimental. Always review merchant name, totals, taxes, and line items before saving anything.

Do I need to trust the scan completely?

No. The scan is meant to save typing, not replace review. Handwritten notes, blurry images, unusual layouts, discounts, and multi-currency receipts can still need manual fixes.

Can I still enter expenses manually?

Yes. Manual entry stays the default flow, and it works whether one person paid or multiple people contributed.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The app is designed first for phone-sized screens and can also be installed to your home screen as a PWA for quicker access.

Where do I get help if something looks wrong?

Use the support page for contact details and include enough context for someone to reproduce the issue: what you were doing, what went wrong, and ideally a screenshot.
